Map Your Nervous System
a 3 week group experience to explore your survival physiology and gather tools for tricky terrain
If your nervous system is nervous.
➝ If one small thing happens and it sets you off for days.
➝ If you don’t get why your nervous system and body do the things they do!
➝ If it’s like trudging through molasses to get things done.
➝ If it’s frantic puppy energy (but less cute, more over-thinky) to wind down.
➝ If traditional grounding techniques don’t work for you.
Your nervous system might need some love.
It might also need a world that is trauma-informed and kinder and less capitalistic (!!!!)
But in the meantime, mapping your nervous system can mean you have a lay of the land. A compass. A sense of direction. A tool that can help you inch closer to calm. One that can help you get things moving when you are magnetted to your couch.
Come gather with us! In 3 weeks, we’ll explore the inner landscape of our nervous systems, and leave with tools to continue the healing after our zooms end!

If your nervous system is nervous
If you’re tired of playing detective
Come make a nervous system map!
WEEK 1: The Landscape
Saying hello to your nervous system. What is a nervous system and what is it’s purpose? What are the zones of your nervous system? How can we approach nervous system connection in a trauma-informed and sensitive way?
In this first week we will build our trauma-informed container, begin to explore Polyvagal Theory, neuroception and survival physiology (among other themes), and be invited to connect to our nervous system, all while honoring our capacity. We’ll even begin exploring and mapping our core nervous system states.
WEEK 2: The Rooms (or: The Zones)
What are the different rooms and zones of your nervous system? Where do you gravitate towards? Where do you feel coziest? Which room drives you bananas or is hardest for you to be in? Are there rooms where you feel stuck? We’ll be invited to explore mixed states, such as freeze.
In our second week together we will begin to map more of our nervous system states through the Polyvagal Theory. Inviting imagery, metaphor, felt-sense discoveries, and old fashioned journaling - there are many pathways to mapping your nervous system in the ways that feel right to you.
WEEK 3: The Moves and The Tools
This week is all about making moves. When you have an understanding of the ways your nervous system operates and your survival physiology functions, and you know all of the rooms in your nervous system house, you can begin to consider moving. Which states are easiest to move to? Which are hardest to access? Which states are easiest to move out of? Where do you feel stuck? What helps you get unstuck? What helps you stay regulated for even just a few seconds longer?
In our third week together, we will build on our understanding of our survival physiology and nervous system patterning. We will be invited to explore tools and strategies to bring more ease into our nervous system healing journey. Whether you are seeking perspective and a gentle pep talk, or you need some tools and practices to keep in your back pocket, this week will equip you to support small moves towards nervous system wellness.
Hi I’m Jess (she/they) and my nervous system has been historically The Most Nervous.
The best thing I’ve done for myself is nervous system healing. I began this journey wildly dissociated and activated at the drop of a hat.
It was 0 to 100, and I often got to 100 without even knowing what took me there. Through slow, somatic work and mindful nervous system connection, I am still a human who gets superglued to my couch or sends ranty voice notes to my pals, BUT! My nervous system is a softer place lately.
I have more choice points. My dissociation has defrosted and I’m less cathartic. And more than that, I can back myself and what I’m feeling. In a world full of gaslighting and shouts of “hysteria” this is no small thing.
Come, join us for a journey of nervous system mapping. I’ll teach you everything about the nervous system there is to know!
And you’ll probably feel seen, heard, held and validated for being a human with a nervous system in a tough world where your survival physiology and trauma responses are needed!
THE DETAILS
Map Your Nervous System takes place on zoom. We gather for two hours each Friday from 1pm-3pm EST, January 12th, 19th and 26th.
Each workshop will be recorded and only shared with registered participants. It’s up to you how you would like to show up. Cameras off or on, in your pjs, etc. This class is trauma-informed, so you can take care of yourself in the ways you need to.
THE VIBE
This 3 week series is trauma-informed and affirming. There is no required participation, everything is just an invitation. I will share about the nervous system and survival physiology, there will be time to map and do experiential exercises and practices, and there will also be time for questions.
I will say this in our time together, but you don’t need to prove or perform a good student for this workshop. I welcome quiet folks and more outwardly engaged folks, and I will always celebrate the choices you make to take care of yourself during our time together.
May your nervous system feel nourished and respected during these three weeks together!
Sliding scale rates:
➝ $200 | for folks with access to expendable or stable income
➝ $150 | for folks with limited to expendable or stable income
➝ $100 | for folks with limited access to cash, funds, housing security, etc.
Sliding scale is important to me. Offering sliding scale does not reflect that my business is financially abundant. Offering accessible (I know this is incredibly relative) services is important to me, so I do it whenever and wherever I can. You can choose where you fall on the sliding scale. I don’t ask for proof, just for folks to self-select the rate that is within their means.
If you are a former SSP student or Somatic client, feel free to use code CLIENTMAP for 30% off any of these rates. I’d love to have you with us!
Feeling the tug?
You can show up scared or unsure or skeptical. Your feelings are invited. This is a no-pressure gathering that I hope will help your nervous system healing journey.

Hi, I’m Jess (she/they), LMT, SSP! I’m a bodyworker, somatic practitioner, Safe & Sound Protocol facilitator, and teacher. I adore holding space for students, clients and the stories their bodies and nervous systems are telling.
Most healing spaces aren’t trauma-informed, but I strongly believe they should be. My approach is trauma-informed, which is also anti-oppressive, somatic, nervous system centered and non-dogmatic. I strive to be a nourishing place for folks who haven’t felt at home in the healing world to land, heal and learn.
From my advanced trauma-informed, somatic trainings to my time on sofas and massage tables as a client with a lot of “stuff” and an out-of-this-world talent for dissociation, I’m here to support you with compassion, goofy humor and nervous system nerdiness & nourishment.
