Trauma sensitive language is challenging - but it’s not impossible!

You are invited to discover the language that will support your clients and shift your practice in this transformative program for healing practitioners

If you are a healing practitioner who wants to learn trauma informed language, unlearn harmful but well-meaning phrases, and support your clients while staying aligned with your integrity …

Welcome, friend. You are in the right place.

Does this sound like where you are?

You’ve received feedback from your clients that some of the prompts you use don’t work for them, but you’re at a loss for what else to say.

When you google trauma informed language, you fall down a never ending rabbit hole of clickbait and catchy instagram posts.

You wring your hands, drop your jaw, or struggle to find the right words when a client discloses their trauma history.

You want to make your materials more trauma informed & supportive for survivors of trauma, but you end up staring at the same blank google doc.

Is this where you want to be?

You open zoom for a session, and feel confident that your language will be inclusive, trauma informed and client centered.

When a potential client visits your website, they can tell right away that you use trauma informed language in your practice.

You have a selection of responses, prompts, invitations and phrases to choose from when a client is in need of guidance or reassurance.

Your toolkit includes a transformational process to use with new language that needs to be adapted to your practice & clients.

What folks are saying about SHIFT:

OLIVIA SAYS: “I've already noticed that the way that I'm speaking with and writing to clients is indeed starting to shift for the better. And I feel good knowing that I have a solid toolkit for this work that I can continue to use as I grow my practice.”

SARA SAYS: “I have been a facilitator for years but it wasn’t until recently that I realized some of the terminology and the ways I was approaching things were getting under my own skin. If my job is to provide a safe and supportive space for others I knew I had to educate myself. This program fell into my lap at the perfect time and I was absolutely dumbfounded at how simple and transformative the practices within the program were. I loved that I could take the course at my own pace so when I was ready to digest more there were deeper levels for me to dive into.”

This 4 week program begins on Sunday, November 14th. Registration closes on Friday, November 12th or when spots are full.

The exchange is $388. You are welcome to use a payment plan at no extra charge.

Want to bundle SHIFT with Beginning Magic, the self-paced trauma informed intake form course and save $67? You can!

If you identify as BIPOC+ and need a reduced rate, just enter the coupon code SHIFT50 for a no-questions-asked scholarship spot at $333.

Scholarship spots are limited and first-come-first-served. Once initiated, payment plans cannot be cancelled. Due to the digital nature of this course, refunds are not possible. A percentage of proceeds are always re-distributed to causes at the intersection of healing + justice.

SARA SAYS: “I am so grateful that I registered for the SHIFT program with Jess. The tools, tips and terminology that I learned from Jess have profoundly impacted the way that I run my business and I have never been more grateful. I am a big proponent of always being a student because there is always more to learn and especially in a field that has been under represented for so long - it is great to be a part of it. ”

MEL SAYS: "My session with Jess was such a beautiful catalyst to further healing within myself: she gently supported me in realizing that part of being a trauma-informed massage therapist is creating the conditions where I, too, can feel safer and more present. This was just one of several lightbulb moments in our consultation, which really helped me get clarity on how I want to grow in my trauma-informed practices."

I’m a trauma informed bodyworker, writer and mentor. Supporting healing practitioners in strengthening their trauma sensitive practices is one of my greatest joys. I draw from extensive training in healing arts, trauma informed care & youth and family services as well as my lived experience as a survivor.

Is this for me?

❍ If you work with humans and bodies in the healing arts (hi yoga teachers, bodyworkers, reiki practitioners, acupuncturists, coaches, breathworkers, meditation guides, facialists, doulas et al!) and would like your language to be more trauma sensitive, SHIFT might be for you!

❍ If learning from a blend of independent study (exploring the program portal), experiential practice (taking concepts back to your client work), live coaching (via our 2 optional zoom coaching calls) and virtual community support (connecting with your peers and myself in our facebook group) sounds like a good fit for your life and learning style, SHIFT might be for you!

❍ If transforming your healing practice into a trauma informed container feels overwhelming, but learning the tentets of trauma informed language feels more doable, SHIFT might be for you! And hint: the tenets of trauma informed language apply to so many other facets in your healing practice.

❍ If you feel excited about taking your language from sensitive but clunky to trauma informed and confident in four weeks and seeing the difference in how YOU feel and how clients respond, SHIFT might be just the thing to help you get there!

☽ If you feel proficient and confident using trauma informed language in your practice, and don’t feel the need to practice trauma informed language or learn new phrasing alternatives, SHIFT might be too basic for you.

☽ If you know that the topics in this course might be triggering and you don’t have access to outside support, or need more support than our group container can provide, SHIFT might not be the right fit.

☽ If you don’t want to go through an experiential process to find the language that feels right to you and your clients, this program might not feel worth it to you. While SHIFT will definitely provide you with alternative phrases you can use right off the bat, part of the magic is in the process itself, and this process might unfold more fully after our 4 weeks together.

☽ If you want to check off a box that says “I’m trauma informed!” this might not be for you because yes, you’ll likely gain new skills but also — trauma informed care is a life-long practice and a commitment we hold, not something that’s one and done.

If you’re still not sure if this is for you, feel free to e-mail me and we can chat in a no-pressure way.

+ Who is this for?

SHIFT is designed for bodybased healing practitioners. If you work with humans, you work with trauma. And if you work with humans, you work with bodies. Anyone in the healing arts field (bodyworkers, reiki practitioners, yoga and meditation teachers, doulas, acupuncturists, facialists, coaches, hairstylists, etc) is welcome! If you're not sure if it's right for you, feel free to reach out.

+ What is the format of this program?

This program is hosted on our teachable portal and also includes weekly e-mails of encouragement. You may also connect with our group in our 2 coaching calls and the virtual facebook group. These are both optional, and will be a space to connect with one another, ask questions, and share how the lessons and teachings are unfolding for you and in your practice (or just listen! It's all welcome).

+ Will I receive 1-1 support from Jess?

There is not an individualized 1-1 component in this experience. I will be present via our weekly e-mails, in our virtual community, and in our coaching calls. You are more than welcome to share your process and ask questions here!

+ What is the scholarship rate process?

If you identify as BIPOC (Black, Indigenous, or a Person of Color) and need a reduced rate, just use the coupon code SHIFT50 for a no-questions-asked (and no extra info needed) spot of $50 off. Scholarship spots are available until spaces are full.

+ Do you offer refunds?

Due to the digital nature of this offering, I do not offer refunds.

+ I have another question!

I'd be glad to chat with you! Feel free to reach out via e-mail; hello at softpathhealing dot com and we can connect.

MEG SAYS:Jess clearly possesses a nuanced understanding of how the subtle/energetic and physical body holds and expresses trauma wounds. She is a gifted facilitator who demonstrates compassionate awareness and skillfully creates a safe container from which emotional vulnerability and connection flow organically. Jess beautifully married her in-depth knowledge of the online platform with the aforementioned skills to evoke meaningful group engagement that I have yet to experience in any other virtual forum for this kind of healing work.”
